'To bring out the idea of what it means to feel potency within a given problem, let us consider something else in nature that demonstrates the power within potency - a hurricane. The principles and manifestations of a hurricane can be shown to be analogous to the principles and manifestations of disease and trauma within the human body.
I have considered potency as a fulcrum point over, around, and through which biodynamic intrinsic forces within human physiology do their work in health and over, around, and through which biokinetic intrinsic forces maintain their disease or traumatic conditions within the body. This potency is very similar to the power or energy field present in the fulcrum point of a moving teeter-totter board or that which can be found in the eye of a hurricane ...
Thus the physician can train his touch to recognize and accept the fact that within every trauma or disease pattern, there is an "eye," within or without the patient, which has within it a potency to manifest this traumatic or disease condition. It is a point of stillness within that focus. It is invisible, to be sure, but it can be perceived by the trained, discerning touch of the physician.'
